The diabetes risk checklist

1 Your age
Routine screening is recommended for every adult from age 35–45 onward, regardless of how you score here.
2 Body mass index

3 Waist circumference
Choose male or female thresholds, then enter your measurement.
4 Daily physical activity
The broader target: 150 minutes a week of moderate-to-vigorous aerobic activity, plus two resistance sessions.

Your result
A risk score of 12 or higher — or simply being of screening age — is what moves the conversation from questionnaire to confirmatory blood testing. These are the thresholds that testing is read against, per WHO and ADA guidance.
